Brentford manager Thomas Frank was delighted to see this deal through as he said, ” I am looking forward to working with Christian again. It has been a while since I last coached him, and a lot has happened since then. Christian was 16 at the time and has become one of the best midfield players to appear in the Premier League. He has also won trophies all over Europe and become the star of the Danish national team.”

Thomas Frank has had a massive influence on Eriksen joining the Bees. Frank was Eriksen’s coach during his Denmark U-17 days. The duo knows each other very well and will hope to take that to fruition on the field as Eriksen returns to the Premier League.

Despite all the problems, Frank is very hopeful that this deal can change the season for Brentford and can also help Eriksen re-establish his career.

“We have taken an unbelievable opportunity to bring a World Class player to Brentford. He hasn’t trained with a team for seven months but has done a lot of work on his own. He is fit but we will need to get him match fit and I am looking forward to seeing him work with the players and staff to get back towards his highest level,” Frank continued.

Eriksen, who has an electronic device (cardioverter defibrillator device) fitted inside to monitor his heart was given medical clearance to look for a new club before Christmass after Inter Milan terminated his contract. The 29-year-old is not permitted to play in Serie A so the Nerazzurri did not have much choice.

There were many suitors for Eriksen as he waited patiently to take the right call. But the Danish midfielder feels that things may work under Thomas Frank at Brentford.

Eriksen started his career in Ajax way back in 2010 where he earned his first Denmark callup. He then joined Tottenham in 2013 and remained in North London for six and half years. He was once considered as one of the best players in the Premier League before he joined Inter Milan and guided them to the Serie A last season under the tutelage of Antonio Conte.

Brentford are 14th in the Premier League points table and have done a decent job in securing some results. But if Eriksen manages to realize his form they can be far more devastating in attack. The Danish midfielder has the capability of taking them to greater heights.
