India Women needs to take more responsibility: Speaking after the loss in the second T20I, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur stated that the side needs to take more responsibilities. She also said that the visitors were 20 odd runs short in the previous game and need to step up. The visitors have blown hot and cold on the tour so far. They lost the first ODIs getting acclimatized to the playing conditions and ended Australia Women’s 26 matches winning streak in the third ODI.

India Women then dominated most of the sessions in the rain-curtailed pink ball test that ended in no result. In the first T20I, they faced early blows but Jemimah Rodrigues’ unbeaten 49 revived their innings before rain played a spoilsport. In the previous outing, Harmanpreet Kaur and & Co. were pretty much good with the ball especially with a below par total on the board.

However, the teams need a complete performance both with the bat and ball in the third and final game of the tour tomorrow. The visiting camp would be eying to end the tour on a high & another thrilling contest is expected at Carrara Oval, Queensland tomorrow.

Australia wins the multi-format series: Australian batters held their nerve to beat India by 4 wickets in a low-scoring thriller on Saturday. The home side chased the target of 119 in the 19.1 overs to seal the multi-format series with one match to spare. Australia won the ODI series 2-1, drew the Test and now this win in the second T20I has handed them the series. Tahlia McGrath was the player of the match as she scored an unbeaten 42 while opener Beth Mooney also played a valuable inning of 34 for the home side in the run chase.

Put into bat, a brilliant Pooja Vastrakar cameo masked a fairly disappointing show from India. After Tayla Vlaeminck removed both openers inside the first three overs, the Aussies ran riot. It was an Indian innings characterised by poor shot selection and calamitous running between the wickets. But the Vastrakar cameo (top-scoring with 37* off 26) certainly kept them in the contest.
