It was a captain’s affair at Lord’s on Monday night, as England football captain Harry Kane took part in a warm-up with England’s last two white ball captains, Jos Buttler and Eoin Morgan.

It came ahead of London Spirit’s match against Manchester Originals in The Hundred, as Kane and his Tottenham teammate Matt Doherty were seen hitting long balls in the Spirit’s trademark blue pads and kit.

They were also pictures posing with Buttler and Morgan as both sides prepared for their second games of this year’s tournament.

Buttler’s Originals were beaten in the first round by Northern Superchargers, while Morgan’s spirit beat Oval Invincibles in a thriller thanks to a quick-fire 47 from the 35-year-old.

The Tottenham stars took part in a Hundred-inspired six hitting competition with the Sky Sports team, although they failed to impress as neither cleared the rope with any conviction.

Kane has taken part in a number of cricket challenges in the past, and was even offered a net by Ben Stokes after Spurs posted a video of the striker batting in the club’s gym.

It has long been apparent that football wasn’t the only sporting talent for the 29-year-old.

He has admitted in the past that he could have become a professional golfer and expressed an interest in playing in the NFL as a kicker after he retires from football.

Matt Doherty has also spoken of his passion for cricket in the past. In an interview with the Irish Mirror in 2019, the fullback apologised for being distracted as he was following England’s progress in the Cricket World Cup, a tournament he has enjoyed since childhood.
