Rohit Sharma, Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Sen and Rishabh Pant are out of Bangladesh series along with Mohammad Shami

Kuldeep Sen suffered an injury during practice and did not feature in the 2nd ODI. While there was no replacement named for the wicketkeeper-batsman, InsideSport had reported that Pant was carrying a back injury since the NZ tour. With injuries to Rohit Sharma and Deepak Chahar during the 2nd ODI, Team India is now left with 13 fit members available for the final ODI in Chattogram.

To note, Shardul Thakur suffered cramps in 1st ODI and was not fully fit. Axar Patel missed the 1st ODI due to a rib injury. Rohit Sharma is visibly frustrated with the string of injuries.

“Few injury concerns and we need to get to the bottom of it. Maybe they’re playing too much cricket. It’s something we have to sit down with our team at NCA and try and monitor their workload. When they come to play for India, they need to be at more than 100 per cent. We need to monitor their workload because we can’t have guys coming in to play for the country half-fit,” Rohit Sharma said at the post-match presentation.

With that the case, stand-in captain KL Rahul and head coach Rahul Dravid will have to scratch their heads for 11 members. If one or two guys suffer injuries, Rahul Dravid may have to come out of retirement.
