Nike Air Zoom AlphaFly Next% 2 Release Date June 2022

Nike just introduced the successor to its record-breaking marathon sneaker by unveiling the newest Air Zoom AlphaFly Next% 2 shown here.

According to the brand, Nike Running designers took the learnings from the first Air Zoom Alphafly Next % and applied them to the new model, featuring an improved Atomknit 2.0 upper for improved containment in the forefoot and breathability above the toes. Just like its predecessor, the midsole is constructed of a full-length ZoomX foam, a full-length carbon plate, and dual forefoot Zoom Air pods, while a wider heel provides improved stability.

The Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next% first caught the attention of fans worldwide when the brand-sponsored runner Eliud Kipchoge wore a pair at the INEOS 1:59 event in 2019 and recorded the fastest marathon time of 1:59:40.

“The Alphafly Next% 2 is built for athletes going after their personal best in the marathon,” Elliott Heath, Nike Running’s footwear product manager, said. “Since its inception, the Alphafly has been inspired by the most elite runners going after world records. The updates we’ve made in the second iteration continue to equip elite athletes competing on the world stage but were focused on improving the racing experience for all runners chasing their personal best.”

The Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next% 2 launched today at Nike.com in select regions across the globe, with additional colorways to launch later this year.
