Over the course of the past decade, Calvin Klein has immersed itself in fashion, previously partnering up with the legendary Raf Simons for 205W39NYC, a now defunct collection that ran from 2017 to 2019. Heron Preston, too, was tasked with creating his own collaborative pieces, many of which touted the minimalism the fashion label prides itself on.
For 2022, Calvin Klein is linking up with the ever-irreverent team at Palace Skateboards, who are bringing their playful charm to garments even they’ve yet to touch. “From our first conversation, there was such a natural connection and a mutual appreciation and understanding of one another’s brand vision and DNA,” said Jacob Jordan, Calvin Klein’s Global Chief Merchant, Head of Product Strategy & New Product Ventures. “With Palace, the story we wanted to tell came to life quite naturally and we had a ton of fun working on it,” Jordan continues.
The apparel, though not the star of the show (that would be the new Palace-formulated CK ONE fragrance), leans on an extensive selection of universally-loved styles. Undergarments, for starters, are clad with both parties’ names, complementing the graphic-adorned tees, hoodies, caps, socks, and the like, many of which blend together Palace and CK’s respective logos. Additionally, you can expect to see a range of denim jackets and trousers, whose baggy, vintage-like fit is bolstered by a meticulously faded wash.
And hidden amongst the fray is none other than a three-way team-up with Vans, who have graciously offered up their beloved Authentic silhouette. Unlike the above-mentioned wearables, the white canvas upper sports no mention of Palace. Instead, “CALVANS” is written all across the shoe in a thick, black-colored font.
