Ruturaj Gaikwad equals Sachin Tendulkar for BIG MILESTONE

The CSK opener needed 23 runs in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad to equal Tendulkar’s record. After being put into bat, he batted fluently and scored a fifty for his team and in the process achieved the milestone. 25-year old Gaikwad scored 1000 runs in his 31st innings and equalled Sachin Tendulkar, who also took 31 innings to get to the landmark.

Gaikwad made his IPL debut midway through the 2020 edition. His first full season was last year and he played a prolific role with the bat, winning the Orange Cap, scoring 635 runs in 16 matches, that included a century.

He however had a poor start to this season , registering single-digit scores in the first three matches. He scored just a single fifty with a 73-run knock against Gujarat Titans a few games before. On Sunday he was on full flow and looked like a man who has found his touch. He played an exceptional knock but fell agonisingly short of a century by getting dismissed on 99.
