The former Australian all-rounder lost his life in Townsville, Australia in a car accident. Sachin took to Twitter to pay his tributes and also recalled on the fond memories from their time together at Mumbai Indians (MI). Sachin shocked as he recalls time – The unfortunate incident came as a big shock to Sachin and couldn’t hide his emotions as he wrote on Twitter, “Andrew Symond’s demise is shocking news for all of us to absorb. Not only was he a brilliant all-rounder, but also a live-wire on the field. I have fond memories of the time we spent together in Mumbai Indians.

“May his soul rest in peace, condolences to his family & friends.”

Sachin and Symonds shared same dressing room at MI – Both Sachin and Symonds were often seen as rivals on the cricketing field while representing their nation, but they also shared time in the same dressing room. In 2011 Mumbai Indians (MI) bought Andrew Symonds in IPL auctions, while Sachin was still the skipper of the side. Sachin was quick to highlight their time together and fond memories they had while playing together.

Lightning strikes twice as Symonds follows Shane Warne – Earlier in March, one of Sachin’s close mate and another Australian legend Shane Warne also lost his life in Thailand. The unfortunate demise has seen yet another close mate of Sachin depart prematurely. The 2003-04 Australia tour of India, the last time Australia won a Test series on Indian soil was a rare occasion in which Sachin, Shane Warne and Andrew Symonds were all on the same pitch.

Australian Cricket has recently been going through a tough period of time as Symonds joins Shane Warne and Rod Marsh who also passed away in the recent memory.
