Sergio Ramos could make a shock departure from Paris Saint-Germain this summer after just one season at the club, according to reports.

The Spanish defender moved to the French capital on a free transfer from Real Madrid last summer and agreed to a two-year deal.

However, Ramos has struggled with a calf injury throughout the campaign and has only played on five occasions in all competitions.

According to Fabrizio Romano, via Spanish outlet Diario AS, there is a ‘strong possibility’ that Ramos will exit the Parc des Princes at the end of the season.

The report adds that the Ligue 1 leaders ‘won’t make any decision in haste’ but will ‘carefully consider’ the 35-year-old’s future in the summer.

Having not appeared since January 23, Ramos is facing a race against time to be fit to play against his former club Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 second leg on Wednesday.

The defender is yet to feature for PSG in the competition that he won four times in a 16-year spell in the Spanish capital.

Earlier this week PSG sporting director Leonardo admitted that he has been disappointed with how Ramos’ time at the club has panned out so far.

‘We signed him, he was in good physical shape,’ he told L’Equipe. ‘So far he has played five games. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as we had planned.

‘It’s difficult for him, for all of us. But our files are quite clear. When the time comes for us to say that he is no longer able to play, it will be evident to everyone. But that isn’t the case.

‘Seeing as he isn’t playing, it is much harder for him to be a leader. We’ll wait for the season to end before drawing any conclusions. But I am not afraid to admit any mistakes I have made.’
