IND vs SA Live: Why does Gavaskar think it is a psychological blow for Chahal for the 3rd T20I?

  • Chahal was taken to cleaners by Klassen and Bavuma as the leg spinner picked up only one wicket and gave 49 runs.
  • So far in the two T20Is that he has played, Chahal has picked up one wicket at an economy rate of 10 runs per over. He has given away 75 runs in six overs
  • The IPL Purple Cap Holder has failed to cast a web on South African batters so far.
  • Gavaskar feels this will dent his confidence and play on his mind in the 3rd T20I as well.

“It’s a psychological blow for the next game as well. In the next game, Chahal will be thinking about what line he should be bowling. May be give the ball bit of air, or should he be bowling slightly wide off the arc. All these things will be something that Chahal will have to think about,” Gavaskar said on Star Sports after the match.
