KKR enters IPL final after 7 long years: Chasing 136 against DC in Qualifier 2, KKR got off to a solid start as openers Venkatesh Iyer and Shubman Gill put on 51 runs inside the first six overs. Both batters kept on scoring runs steadily and at the halfway mark, KKR’s score read 76/0. However, Rishabh Pant led side came back strongly and picked 6 wickets for just 7 runs, almost giving KKR a last over scare defeat but the two-time champions managed to survive it and entered the IPL 2021 with the help of a Six from Rahul Tripathi.

KKR reached the IPL 2021 final after seven years since becoming the Champions in IPL 2014 season. Only Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have managed to reach the finals after playing eliminator. And, KKR will be facing one of them on Friday in Dubai.

Also, KKR has a 100 percent record in an IPL final, i.e., they have featured in 2 IPL finals and have won on both occasions – IPL 2012 and IPL 2014. Interestingly, it was MS Dhoni’s CSK against whom the Knight Riders lifted their first IPL trophy in 2012.

MS Dhoni & Co eye 4th IPL trophy: MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings finished second in the league stage and advanced straight into IPL 2021 final after registering a convincing 4 wickets win over Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1. Featuring into their 9th IPL final, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will be eying their fourth title win when they will take the field in Dubai on October 15, Friday.

CSK’s win percentage in an IPL final is 37.5. The Super Kings were the first team to win back-to-back titles when they clinched wins over Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2010 and 2011. They won their third title after returning from a two-year suspension in 2018, beating the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

While they had a forgetful campaign last season, the WhistlePodu Army bounced back strongly in the ongoing season becoming the first team to reach the final. Can they continue the momentum and lay their hands on the trophy for the fourth time?
