IND vs BAN: Spotlight on batters as India desperate to turn the tide in the third ODI – Fair to say India’s batting has let them in both ODIs so far. The two batting stalwarts Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli have failed to get going. Barring Shreyas Iyer, no batter has shown consistency. Worst, apart from Rohit Sharma, India won’t have the services of Kuldeep Sen and Deepak Chahar as the two pacers are out due to back stiffness and hamstring trouble respectively.

The spotlight will be on batters, and the likes of Kohli, Dhawan, and KL Rahul are set to have extended nets session. As for bowling, Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik have done well. Shardul Thakur has to buck up if India harbors hopes of restricting Bangladesh to a low score.

IND vs BAN: Rohit Sharma flies back to India, set for treatment in Mumbai

Team India captain Rohit Sharma has flown back to India. The star opener will be in Mumbai to consult a doctor regarding his finger injury. There is a high chance that India’s skipper could miss the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh starting next week. During the second ODI, Rohit dislocated his finger and required stitches. While he did come to bat later in the innings, coach Rahul Dravid confirmed that Rohit will not take part in the final ODI of the series.

“Rohit will certainly miss the next game, fly back to Bombay, consult with an expert and see how it is and whether he can come back for the Test matches or not,” Dravid said. “I’m not sure. It’s too soon to say that (he’ll be fit for the Tests or not).”
